SPEAKER_02

Hi, I'm Clara. I'm Sophie. And I'm Deirdre. As an aspiring filmmaker, actress, and musician, we will deep dive into the world of music, movies, books, and everything in between. Welcome to the Geek Joker Podcast. Welcome back to the podcast. Today we've got a very exciting episode lined up. We're going to talk about the new gorillas album, The Mountain. We've listened to in full, researched, watched the short film that came with it, listened to all the songs. And yeah. Woo! Woo-hoo! We might also mention some other recent pop culture things. Yeah. Should we do that first or yeah, sure, let's let's let's start with that. Okay, well, I was very happy to see Noel Gallagher win Songwriter of the Year at the Brit Awards last week.

SPEAKER_01

For what song though? Yeah, what did you write?

SPEAKER_02

Give me some evidence. Um The Oasis Reunion, every song on the set list. I suppose.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, sure, okay. That wasn't recent though.

SPEAKER_02

But he should have he should have won it when it was first written. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. He did, he won it in 1996. Touche.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, okay. She came with the box.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. No, it was so nice. I was like, oh. I didn't really watch the Demon Hunters. Yeah, and Somber. Didn't Somber get like attacked during his set? What?

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Why? It was no. Somber gets brutally slated by an old guy. That was a reference to our last episode, by the way. Yeah. For those of you who listen. Um I don't wait, what else has happened recently? Should we talk about the Killian Murphy? Okay, I'll just say Killian Murphy is reopening an old cinema in Dingle. Him and his wife bought it. It was gonna be destroyed, but now it's not because he he bought it. And yeah, whenever that's opened, we sh we should make a trip and go see. Hmm. Also, apparently the Foo Fighters are coming to Dingle. It's all going down in Dingle. Yeah, I know. Like what the hell, like Dingle. Yeah. Yeah, we should go to the premiere of the cinema. Yeah, I think it might not be out for a while though, right? Like 2028 or something. Yeah, like if they've only got planning permission now, you know. What? What are you that? It's David Bowie. Jesus despicable. I was trying to draw the I was trying to draw the two with different eyes, but. For the c for context. And I'm trying to draw his like mullet or whatever it is. They're just drawing a picture while I'm recording. I hope they can hear the sounds of the pen. She just saw it there. Yeah. There's a there's an I don't know. Abstract drawing of David Bowie being formulated after the god. Very abstract. Um what else? Pop culture news. I feel like there is more, but now we can Oh well, concert review. You guys saw Ray like yesterday. Yes. Yeah. We were at Ray well at time of recording last night, so I'm a bit run down after that. But it was amazing. It was so good. It was class. I forgot you guys were at that. And I was like texting you and I was like, uhwh, why's no one replying? And then I was like, wait, no. Yeah, I like had yeah, my phone was turned off. But um, it was so good. She played her new songs, so all the unreleased ones, so we have like Insider Info. Insider info. Oh, that's so cool. And it was oh it was amazing. Like at one point she had her name up on the screen, it was like Ray, and then the Y like went away and it was replaced by a V, and then it turned into like a nightclub button for the next half hour. That took me a second. I was like it was like roasting in in the stadium though. It was people were facing the stadium, yeah. Yeah, wait, where was Arena Stadium arena or something? Um no, not the same thing. Sorry, but yeah, I was we were sort of paranoid we were gonna faint, but it was she was like Alina would be phone, and I was like, You're not prone to fainty, right?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. We locked in so hard.

SPEAKER_02

I know. But it was like it was a great night. Oh, that's so nice. Yeah, shame shame you weren't here.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, next time.

SPEAKER_02

I only know two songs Where's My Husband and Escapism?

SPEAKER_01

And I said Where as my husband, and I was like, Did she play Where's My Husband? Well, yes, how was it?

SPEAKER_02

Was it really cool? Yeah, it was so good. It's because she has like a whole orchestra on with her the whole time. That's so cool. Yeah, on Dancing with the Stars last week, the RT concert orchestra played Where's My Husband. It was really, really good. They had like the backing singers and all. Didn't Ray also sing at Brits? Sing what? She sang at the Brits as well. Oh did she? Yeah. I don't know. I had it I had it muted. I just had the subtitles on, so then when I saw the word oasis, I turned it on and watched Noelman as a word. And then I just went downstairs and told everyone. And then I just went back to whatever I was doing.

unknown

Day of the life.

SPEAKER_01

Day of the life of true Brexit Keys and have you seen that. No, I haven't.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, but I found that funny nonetheless. No, I think you guys just need to presume I haven't seen whatever you're talking about.

SPEAKER_01

But I did that once and then you like knew it and I felt really bad, so I just kind of like suddenly hinted at all.

SPEAKER_02

Also, wait, what else is new in pop culture? Any more Warchild songs? Oh yes, yes, there's Which one? I didn't didn't know any of the people who sang it and I didn't particularly love it. It's called um Who Who's On It? Sorry. Who's on it? I don't know. I didn't know any of them. It's called like it's not lifeboat, but I that's one of Ray's new songs, but it's um It begins with a B. It's something to do with the C, I I feel. There's it's like a thing.

SPEAKER_01

I'll just look it up. It could be a line. Tom Holland and Zendaya. Oh, they got married. That's a big possible. Oh did it? Yeah, yeah, I didn't know that. Oh, it's so funny.

SPEAKER_02

I don't like how they revealed it though.

SPEAKER_01

Like, why is the stylist the guy with like all the insert information? Like, why can't they come out and say it, you know? Tom should change his Instagram name to Tom instead of Tom Holland. Yeah, do you think she's gonna be Zendaya Holland? No, that would ruin it. Like Zendaya is Zendaya Holland not Zendaya Holland. Zendaya Colb Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, I c I can't be bothered to read this whole thing. What are they? The article. About what? The war child. Just go into Spotify and see which one's like lit up. Oh, that's a good idea. Yeah, but yeet or something. Remember how yeet was a thing?

SPEAKER_01

Oh, that was funny.

SPEAKER_02

I remember someone calling it WB Yeats, W B yeet, and I find it like so funny.

SPEAKER_01

Um pop culture. Judah has a six-year-old fight chuckling at her like literature figures.

SPEAKER_02

Wait, I literally can't find is it helicopters? Yes. I don't know who's on it. Maybe. When the hell is my husband's movie? Oh, um, do we think Jim Carrey was cloned? Oh, Block Party. Oh, they're a bit meh. Wait, wait, why are you? Oh yeah, Jim Jim Carrey, yeah. How do you not know about this? You of all people should know about this. Yeah, I I made a pop culture survey for my class. I was telling you guys about this, and one of the questions, like they're all normal questions, like, what's your favourite song? What's your favorite podcast? What movie are you watching right now? And then the last one was like, Do you think Jim Carrey was cloned? Everyone except one person said I don't know. Basically, Jim Carrey um was at this premiere thing or something. An awards ceremony in Paris. An awards ceremony in Paris last week, but he looked really weird and he was talking kind of strangely, and people were like, Oh, that's not Jim Carrey, and his eyes looked like a different colour, right? Yeah. So there were all these conspiracy theorists on it and whatever. And then this guy, Alexis Stone, who does prosthetics and makeup and stuff, posted that he had pretended to be Jim Carrey in Paris the night before, and he posted a photo on his Instagram story of the mask, but it was like clearly AI. So what I assumed is that he just kind of jumped on the trend, you know. Yeah. Personally, what I think has happened is either he paid someone to pretend to be him. Because he's said in the past that he used to do that, or he just got work done.

SPEAKER_01

To be honest, like, didn't the same thing or hasn't the same thing happened to Kanye West? Bro, I don't know. They said that like somebody like replaced him and replaced.

SPEAKER_02

They said that about every celebrity. Don't people say that about Selena Gomez or something?

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Really? Yeah. I think with Jim Carrey it's um with someone else. He's probably just trying to confuse people. Maybe it's like a prank. But like yeah, you can't like he's just completely different. Like he was in an industry like a year ago and he was like Yeah. And he's always looked like him. He's always saying like he's not real and and so on. Yeah, about him putting on all these different characters and stuff. Yeah. One thing that irritates me is when people are going, but look at the eyes, the eyes look green, it can't be him. If you were to dress up and pretend to be Jim Carrey, the one thing you would do is get brown contacts, you know what I mean? Yeah. So that's just it's such a stupid thing to say. Yeah. It's easy to just put contacts in. Like it could be him with contacts for some strange reason, but I just don't think it is. Because like his voice and his mannerisms were all just completely different. So that's my opinion on the whole thing. I'd say, yeah, I'd say you should fade someone to be honest. Yeah. Do you know that one video of him where he like randomly makes the Grinch face? Oh yeah, he's like seeing that in my mind. It's so horny. If I could make that face, I would I would also do that at any given opportunity. Okay, should we get into the album then? Yeah. That probably makes sense. Okay. Um we have mentioned it in all the way back in episode two quite a while ago. Eleven. No. Eleven episodes ago? Wow. Wow. Is this a thirteenth episode? Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Oh it's Chris.

SPEAKER_02

Um we did mention how this was being released and back then there were only a few singles out, but no, the whole thing came out on the 27th of February, I think. Yeah. Friday. Whatever the whole one is. Yeah, 27th. Um So it's been out for a while now. Um how how are we gonna combat this? Should we go song myself? Song my song, sure. Okay. First, there's 16 songs though. First, the mountain opens with a type of bamboo Indian flute called a Bansuri. Do we like the first song? Uh I like it in that it's very it's nice instrumental. Um, I don't know if it's it's not like something you could dance to. Yeah. Yeah. You know, but it is it is like really like soothing. I really like the Dennis Hopper feature. Yes, the reference. In the second half of the song, or towards the end, you hear a voice say, um, The Mount in the Mountain, all good souls come to rest. And that's taken from film director and actor Dennis Hopper from um where is the sample from? I don't know. I don't know what I've written here. Oh no, that's just his name. He was in Speed, like I said. Um one of my favourite movies. You guys should watch it, it's Keanu Reeves. Thunderbird.

SPEAKER_01

Isn't Keanu Reeves turned out like a multi-million dollar like uh Marvel contract deal with then like appears in Spongebob as a cameo?

SPEAKER_02

Um but yeah, that recording of him speaking was from 2010. Yeah, we should mention that a lot of people featured on the album have passed away. Yeah, that's what the album's about, kind of death. Yeah, it's because um Damon's Damon Hilburn's dad passed away, and then ten days later Jamie Hewlett, the artist's um dad passed away. So that's why they explained Actual artists, by the way. Yes, he draws the pictures. Um like come on. But yeah, so they explore the people of death, and then that's through Russell, one of the one of the members of Girl Us who can get possessed and and so forth. Okay, next one. Wait, first of all, shout out to Ajay Prasana and Nooshka Shankar and then Aman and Ayan Ali Bangash, because they're also on the first song. Nice, okay. Then the second song, The Moon Cave, with Asha Poutli, Bobby Wilmack, Dave um, okay, it was Dave. It's not what I wrote. Um someone else. Um what do we think of that song? That's one of my personal favorites.

SPEAKER_01

I think my favourites in the album is The Moon Cave. R. And R sorry. Sorry. R the Moon Cave and the Empty Dream Machine. Yeah. Actually really damn the The Empty Dream Machine. Machines.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, that one's a that one's a banger. Yeah, good song. And then the Happy Dictator. Personally, I just I really love the Happy Dictator. It's just so everything about it's perfect. Was that the first song to be released? Yeah. I love it so much. It's about his trip to um where was it? Indonesia. No, oh yeah. I think Indonesia. I thought you were gonna say India. I was like, no. What was that nice? No batteries. Oh. About or was it Malaysia? I think it was Indonesia. Somewhere where the dictator or the president like didn't tell the people any bad news because he wanted them to be happy, but obviously that's like really gross, like yeah. So yeah, I thought it was at first I thought it was meant to be like actual happy, like no more bad news. And I was like, aww. And I was like, oh wait, there's a catch. But that's a good song. Then the hardest thing with Tony Allen. I really like Sophie reference. I really like the cello in that song.

SPEAKER_00

Yes!

SPEAKER_02

Yes, Sophie is a cellist, by the way, guys. Um yeah, that's a good one. Tony Allen was another feature who passed away.

SPEAKER_01

Is there somebody who passed away in every song?

SPEAKER_02

I don't know. No, there's not, no. Um But we'll get to that. Do you guys prefer Orange County or the hardest thing? Orange County personally. Oh really?

SPEAKER_01

Actually, wait, I'm gonna done somewhere. Oh yeah, in the Orange County, the first line is the hardest thing. And the hardest thing is the song before in the album.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, there is a sort of sort of sort of the song, it's the same song, but one of them is more upbeat and has a bit more going on. The same lyrics.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so yeah. I've been so busy this week so I haven't researched in this.

SPEAKER_02

Um I don't really like Orange County because I don't like the whistle. I love the Orange. I wrote something else here. Another star get another chores. Another chor oh, that's lyrics from another another chance. Oh, another chance. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, I thought that was nice because it's like hopeful, you know. The song's about losing someone, but then that's kind of hopeful. Chance, not chores. They sang it really nicely on the Graham Norton show, actually, recently. Oh yeah, and the Damon had the pink keyboard. He did a pink glittery keyboard. Oh, he was causing all sorts of trouble that day. Yeah, that was weird. Interview after, oh my gosh. Yes. And then um The God of Lying. We've discussed this before, so we don't really need to do the end, but the summary, I don't like it. I like it. Yes, very good. I think I think it's it's um jump all Georgia Ringo. Can can you guys lock in? Sorry. I think it's Mr. Helena's not locked in as a male. Can we lock in? I'm trying to speak here! Also, my good why did you just count it out? Why didn't you go like scene? Um with idols, so they're not dead, Sophie, to answer your question.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_02

Um number seven, the empty dream machine with Black Thought, Jolly Marr, and America. I see some handwriting lessons in your near future, but okay, but to be fair, I can't use my thumb, so like for context, guys, I have nerve damage in my thumb from playing too much guitar.

SPEAKER_01

Not into yours.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. And I can't play for a week, so. What are you gonna do? Well, I can play with my other fingers. It's just gonna look bad, so. Well, this could be an opportunity for you to learn a new skill and come basket player ever. Maybe this is my sign to start using a pick. A plactrum. Don't call it a plectrum. It's only a pack. It's only plaque pick. Plec.

SPEAKER_01

Trum. Trummy. No, pleque just sounds so like weird.

SPEAKER_02

Alright, uh, what's the next album? Wait. Oh, we're not. I feel like I wanted to say something. It's a really good song. Wait, sitarist. I really like the sitar. Do you really want the song say? I swear this is America. America. Something sitarist. Okay. Do you know what that would say? I thought it said Satanist at first. Look at I see. I think that's someone's name. No, wait, the the gone. That looks like it says British. Yeah. Oh, it's um the lady who plays sitar on it. She's British and American. Yes, Orange County. And she's an activist. She's really cool. She advocates for the help. Child abuse and animal abuse. Yeah. And she's a really good guitarist. Can I just say though, like, Loki Johnny Marr is on that song and like didn't hear anything that impressive. Like, I love Johnny Maher, but I was kind of trying to like listen out for the guitar. And I was just like, eh. You know? And he's on four songs, so lock in like. And then we have Delirium. Oh, I really liked that one. Yeah. Oh yeah, and the that has Mark E. Smith on it from the fall. From Manchester. He died in 2018, but the Delirium that he repeats in the song, that's from recording Plastic Beach in 2010. Oh. Because he was in glitter freeze. Isn't that interesting? Imagine going through like the archives to find samples. Yeah, I love that song. Um The Plastic Guru. I didn't listen to that one. That was the one I didn't listen to. That is a really that's a really sweet one. Is there like guitar? Yeah. I don't know. Nice guitar? I don't know. I just know that the like the chorus is like really cheerful and happy, and I can't wait to hear it. Okay, we'll listen. The whole song is quite cheerful and happy. Like I know it's meant to be about kind of exploring death, but I don't really find any of it like overly sad. The song or the album? The album. Oh okay. Did I? Oh I meant album. Okay. Then we have. I wrote Delirium down twice. Does anyone know what the eleventh song is? Um The Eleven Song.

SPEAKER_01

Damascus?

SPEAKER_02

Oh Damascus. That was the one to write down. What do we like Damascus? I don't like Damascus. I like the start of Damascus, I think. Is that the one I said is really like shimmery? Might have been, yeah. I think it was, yeah. But the rest of it I don't really know. That one I didn't that was one of the the singles that was released, I think, most recently. I didn't really Shadowy Light. I really like that one. Yeah. I oh I love that one. The ending sounds so like dream pop. Yeah. Would anyone like to hear a song rack? I would. Sure. Hold on, it's in my Shazam. I heard it earlier and I thought it was really nice. But the next song is Casablanca with Paul Simon and Johnny Moore. I just wrote Boring. Oh. Oh, yeah. It's Crash by the Primitives. That's my song rack. It's really nice. Um, yeah, I think Casablanca, Damascus, and the Sweet Prince, they're just the three that I I didn't feel for too much. Um the rest of the songs. Yeah, the Sweet Prince was pretty boring too. Yeah, it's probably my least favourite. I just feel like there's nothing in it. That girl Anoushka Shakar. Is on that one too. She's on a good few of them and she's really really good. Yeah. I really like her backing vocals in The Sad God, which is the 15th song. They're really, really good. And as Sophie mentioned, the start of that song sounds like are you gonna say? Oh bloody. Oh the Beatles. Yeah. Yeah. Can I just take take a second to say how much I love the sad god? Yes. The last song, oh my gosh. It is my favourite by and far. Um, I just love it so much. Like some of the lyrics like, I gave you alums, you built a bomb. Like, wait. Time my hand is so cold. Artistic genius. I'm like, no, what are you talking about me? Because I'm drawing a lightning stripe right now. I was like, ah. Yeah, you two doja. I really like the last line, the like, I'll give you my love in paradise.

SPEAKER_01

I thought you were just about to repeat the same thing.

SPEAKER_02

Clara just said it's like when he says no more mountain, no more song. It breaks my heart. Because obviously the album's got the mountain, and it's the last song. No more mountain.

SPEAKER_01

Like, oh, if we get footage of Clona at the concert, she's gonna be crying out.

SPEAKER_02

I know I'm gonna be like losing it, bro. You know, we have a plan to throw a podcast flyer on the stage. Oh basically. You should try getting a ticket. I mean, I'll try. Like, actually. We made podcast flyers recently. And so our plan is when we go to the concert is to write a note on the back of one and throw it on the stage at the same point.

SPEAKER_01

They're actually also like waterproof. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Okay, wait, can we talk about the short film real quick? Yes, we can. Like, what is the ending about? Well, we should probably start with the beginning. Okay, well, it's basically an animation created by Jamie since he's the artist. Yes. And it looks a lot like the 60s movie of the jungle book. Yeah. Um, and I think it's inspired by that because you know Noodle is like Mowgli at the beginning.

SPEAKER_01

There's the scene where someone is at like the it's like the bare necessities of Oh, in the water.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Yeah. For real. But it's called The Mountain, the Moon Cave and the Sad God, and it has those three songs in it. And they like go to the Moon Cave and all the like pictures on the wall come to life. Yeah. And that reminded me of like bringing art to life. Like how they're bringing to life the recordings of all the artists who've passed away. Oh and then the ending. Yeah, spoiler alert. Spoiler alert, they all die. Well, hold on, this is up for discussion. Um That's what I've seen everyone say though. I don't know, because basically what happens is um New Orleans mouths I love you, and then jumps into a river, and then she's followed by Russell and Tutie. And then does Murdoch go in? Yeah. Yeah. He falls. Yeah, falls in. He wasn't actually gonna go in, he just fell. But and then it sort of end they like it shows him sinking down a bit and then it ends. So do they die? Well, do you want to know my theory? Yeah. I think they died, but since it's kind of based a lot around Indian culture and art and stuff, I think they're gonna be like reincarnated. Okay. Into I don't know something. Yeah. So do you think they're gonna do another album and it's gonna be in a different form? Like it's not the end.

SPEAKER_01

Well like I think if it's the end of the end. Oh my gosh. Um I think if it was the end, then they probably would have kind of made it more dramatic about like not more dramatic as if like the ending was good, but I feel like they would have like kind of marketed it as towards something, it's towards the end.

SPEAKER_02

And it would have been more concrete, like it's yeah, we know towards the end. Yeah. Yeah. But the short film was really good, and that's not usually something you get with a new album, you know? Yeah, very looking. Yeah, it's very the art is so nice. I love the art as well. It's nice to have something accompanying it to like really visualize what you're trying to say. I just think I like I love the album, I think it's so like chill, you know.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah. It's in my life motivation. Motivation. Motivation.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, does anyone know Lori?

SPEAKER_01

Okay, thank you.

unknown

I'm okay then.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. So that's great. What if we finish off by each sharing our top three in order favorite songs from the new album?

SPEAKER_01

Sure, why not? So you go first. Oh. Okay. So first the mountain, then Really? No, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry. No, no, no, no. First the empty dream machine. Okay. Okay. Then the moon cave, then the mountain, I think.

SPEAKER_02

Oh. I didn't mind the hobby dictator number one. Okay. To be honest. And then two. I like the guitar. Two is your the echo.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it's been doing that.

SPEAKER_02

The whole time, yeah. I just heard it pretty much every time. Two, the moon cave, and three the side card. Mine be one the side card, no question. Uh two shadowy light. Three. Yeah. What do you guys think of like the voice? The sort of radio sounding thingy Damon uses. It's very gorillous. Yeah, it is very gorillous, but he uses it in every song. You don't really hear just his voice much, you know. Oh yeah. It's because he's he's getting on a bit, you know. Vocal cords cut lacking. I know, but he sounds great in Flags, the War Child song. That's true, yeah. Fair. Maybe it's it's to distinguish his voice from from 2D's, you know. Yeah, that's an interesting. It could be like that's what 2D's voice does sound like. Yeah. Does anybody have anything else they want to share about anything? At all? Ever ever in the history of time. Um no. I was listening to some nice classical music yesterday. Yeah. Very performatively. Yeah. And then I went home and read by Oscar Wilde. Oh my god. Oh my gosh. Yeah, I read like five pages of it. The Canterville Ghost. I will have read it by the next recording, trust. Um yeah. What are your songwrecks? Well, let me check my Airbooks history. Let's do some songwricks. Sophie, what is your favourite song right now? Apart from Gorilla's array. Right now? Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Oh. That that's actually that's a hard Bad Bunny. Bad Bunny, you know. Bring it though. Uh probably, well, it's actually been.

SPEAKER_02

Wait, Bad Bunny at the Super Bowl was so tall. Oh, it was so tight. That was so tall.

SPEAKER_01

I felt really like bad that he had to wear a bullet bust though. Yeah. Yeah, because he was scared he was gonna get shot. He looked so scared of concerted. Yeah. He's been doing that for like a bit now because he is like you know, he's he was scared for a safety considering everything going on in America. Like it's terrible. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Wait, did anyone hear my sound rack? Yes. Piano concerto number one in B flat minor up 23. Um by Tchaikovsky. Oh, of course. So sophisticated.

SPEAKER_01

Tchaikovsky is low-key, like one of the best. He's like a goaded romantic.

SPEAKER_02

Real Loki tough. A bit like intense though, sometimes. Can't really like chillax to a bit of Tchaikovsky, you know. What's it?

SPEAKER_01

Um what's that one song? Passe toi. Like, don't know how to say it because I don't study French. Hold up.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, I've had a French song stuck in my head all day. Pad of not not not of two.

SPEAKER_01

You you would know it. You would know it. But yeah, I've had a friend.

SPEAKER_02

We we never talked about our albums, by the way. Our CDs, remember?

SPEAKER_01

Oh yeah. We can do that, no?

SPEAKER_02

Okay. Basically, um last week when we were celebrating Coda's birthday, we went into a record shop and we all bought an album for each other, CD, that had like a nice cover that reminded us of each other. So mine was Muse. Um, I forget the name of it. It was their first album though, from 1999, and it has a blue cover. I liked it, kind of, but like mm, I don't know. It reminded me a lot of Radiohead, specifically this one song about like hating everything or something.

SPEAKER_01

Average Radiohead song.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, here it is. The album is Showbiz, and the song that I thought was really like Radiohead was Hate This and I'll Love You. It reminded me of um fake classic choice. Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I haven't listened to mine yet because my CD pair won't work. I'm offended. I picked up for you. No, no, no, seriously, like it just it won't work. Like I was playing the I was trying the Benson Boozy. That's how desperate times got, is that I wasn't the Benson Boozy does it.

SPEAKER_02

Mr. Let's Desperate Times Blue. No, I got a Stevie Nick CD in that shop and I won't play. I'm really sad.

SPEAKER_01

In that shop.

SPEAKER_02

We're not gonna name the Jam here, but it is a good shop though, it is, it is. But what's your album? My one's actually really interesting. I was doing some research. It's called And Other Delights, and it's by Whipped Cream. I bought it because it looked interesting. It it reminded me of like a carnival. See, Whipped Cream and Other Delights as a whole is an album from the 60s, I think, um by someone. And then but this is called And Other Delights by Whipped Cream, but on the cover it reads Whipped Cream and Other Delights. So it doesn't make much sense, which is I had a hard time finding it. But it's by these this Swedish band, and I was I put it on and it was like very similar to Ledger by Blur, like it's creepy, like some of it I swear that's a big thing. No way. What years ago? Um 1993. Oh, pretty blur. Let me release 1991. Oh but I was like looking through the songs, and then one of the songs was called Come Together. I was like, whoa the same. Like there's one on the bottom. I don't really like that blur song.

SPEAKER_00

I love that song.

SPEAKER_02

I like the Beatles.

SPEAKER_01

It's called then you just don't like the same thing.

SPEAKER_02

I like the Beatles come thing. No, it's that's what it is. It's a cover of the Beatles one. Oh, yeah. Because I put it on, I was like, imagine this was a cover, and it was, but of the wrong band. But yes. Um but they're actually really good. My favourite song is the first one, which is called Explosion. I highly recommend. Yeah. No, it's very good. Um, but it's nice to find stuff like that, because otherwise, had we not been in that shop at that time and had that idea to get albums for each other, we never I never ever would have heard any of those songs. I guarantee you that. So yeah, that was a nice open thing. But as I was saying a while ago, I've had a French song stuck in my head all day. And you know there's like the psychology thing, which is like the reason you get songs stuck in your head most of the time, is that your brain's trying to figure out what the last word is. The song's in French. Yeah. I didn't know that. Why don't you just sing it into Google? No, I know the song. Oh. It's on my playlist. Once I read this book written by this doctor about like music and the brain, and it was really interesting because you'd hear about these people who get brain injuries, and then they'll start hearing violins or something in their head, and it will get so loud that it's just like horrible. And it's like literally, what do you do in that situation? Or they they know how to play piano or they hear music in their head and they can play it. Oh, fun fact that I found out the other day. George Michael in like 2010, he was in a coma for like three weeks after having pneumonia, and when he woke up he had a Bristol accent for like a couple days. They don't know why. I saw this thing on TV once where it was like this guy had like a brain problem that he had a song stuck in his head, like on repeat, over and over and over and over. Um and like it was never gonna leave. What song was it? I don't know, I can't remember, but he I think it drove him to suicide. Oh yeah. Because it like if you had the same song over and over and it was never gonna go away because it's part of your brain chemistry, like it's a problem. Like it would it would drive you nuts. What the hell are you doing? Are you talking victory? Oh no, it didn't it didn't work. Wait, no, it did. Uh no. But see, like in some likes what do you mean no? Everyone just talks to Obi's phone and it's like awfully suspicious over there.

SPEAKER_01

You don't do it, too. Guys are post it on the Instagram when we're back to the base reveal.

SPEAKER_02

Um alright guys, I think that's all for this week. Thank you so much for listening, as always, and go check out the mountains by gorillas. Highly, highly recommend. Bye. Bye! Bye.
