Hi, I'm Cona. I'm Sophie. And I'm Deirdre. As an aspiring filmmaker, actress, and musician, we will deep dive into the world of music, movies, books, and everything in between. Welcome to the Geeky Ogre podcast. Hi guys. Oh today. Today we're going to be talking about Marvel, the MCU. Yes! Also, we should note that there's no deirdre here. Because all three of us are never in the same room. She's not here because she is getting over an illness. Yeah, but also preface this by saying there will be spoilers. That's just kind of like Yes. It's kind of inevitable. But there'll also be some things that we probably don't touch on because there's so much to talk about in the MCU. So sorry, that is the loudest airplane I've ever heard. Oh my god. Ignore that. But yeah, there will be spoilers. Um so if if you haven't seen going. If if you haven't seen some and you you want to see it, maybe come back to this episode back in the near future. Um but yeah, we don't we're gonna just talk about a bit of everything, a bit of the past and then what's coming in the coming months.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Some big movies are gonna drop, so very exciting. Me and Sophie are sort of the Marvel nerds of the group. Yeah, I've still do not so much. Yeah. So we we know what we're talking about. Oh yeah, we know ball. We know ball. Um so maybe we could just start at the basics. So, what is your favourite character movie and mini-series or actually my favourite mini-series to be honest? Probably Miss Marvel or Wandavision. But my favourite character, um, and honestly, it might be Tom Holland's Peter Parker because I'm excited to see what they do to his character. Just overall. But I I like Bookie and uh Elena as well. Yeah, solid picks. And for the movie? Um I liked the first Avengers, but I also really enjoyed the Civil War, Cats America Civil War. I think that was really cool to see all of them kind of assemble, but like it was at the same time it was yeah, assemble reference. But like at the same time it was like kind of like sad to see the French being broken off. Yeah, that's true. What about you? Well, um favourite character, and I'd say either Bucky or Loki to be honest. Oh, it's because I think Loki he's misunderstood. I think he's probably one of the the deep like deepest characters, like his backstory goes far and it's his emotional growth or whatever is probably the biggest difference from like start to now. Um I say so, yeah. And then Loki's just he's just hilarious. Nothing else to it like um favourite movie Thunderbolts. Oh my god, I forgot about Thunderbolts. That was so good. That was pretty recent. Yeah, um either that or Civil War for sure. That's pretty solid. And then series, probably have to say Loki, but other than that one division. I didn't enjoy that. Because it was different. Yeah, like they did like every episode was like a new decade of television, so the styles was they were all really different. Yeah. Um I don't really know exactly why they did that. Was there a reason? I think it was just to kind of show like them growing up. Sorry, maybe should we close the window? Oh my god, bro.
unknownJesus.
SPEAKER_00Okay, the window is closed. Um yes, so yeah, One Division was really really good. Um the problem I did have with that actually is the witch. What's her name? Oh, Agatha. Agatha, I love her. She didn't know I didn't like I didn't watch her series, so actually. Really? No. No, I'm not gonna go near that. I didn't like her character at all. Really? I think I just don't really like Catherine Han as an actress. Yeah. She's just a bit much for me or something. I think I don't know. I don't really know how to feel about her because I haven't watched the series, so I actually don't know what it's like, but um it's on my watch list. That and Moon Knight, I should still haven't watched Moon Knight. Moon Knight is good. Yeah. That I I did watch that and all in one day. Not really proud of it, but no, it was it was really, really good. Okay. Question for you is um well, obviously, we'll just go through interest. Spider-Man brand new day is coming out on July 31st. I'll plug the cannon. That's how long is that? From the day so yeah, so this release is on the 31st of March. So exactly four months. Oh so we left Spider Man on was it Far From Home was the last one, or was it No Way Home? No, no way home, yeah. Sorry. No way home. And then Doctor Strange about the Cumberbatch reference, true like reference, had um everyone's forgotten who he is. Like, how do you think that they're gonna they're gonna bring that back? Like what do I think like from baseball trailer? I think he's built his own new community with like well if we saw like clips of like The Punisher and just like other really kind of vigilante. So I'm excited to see who they'll bring in. Like maybe there's another Daredevil appearance, or yeah. But do you think like it's gonna like will he get that status again? Do you think he's gonna reach like world famous Spider-Man back in the Avengers, like in the mix? Probably not. I'm not gonna lie, probably not, because there's already so many new heroes they've introduced, like Miss Marvel and Elena, that there's just so many problems and there's so little like OG Avengers left, really, if you think about it. Yeah, and do we like that sort of ties into the whole thing that like a lot of people are dying off and they're going to continue to do so? Like, yeah, I know I for one, but a lot of people are sort of scared for Doomsday because like their rumors that bookies are just like, oh my goodness, what are we gonna do? But like stuff like that. Do you think that that they'll all be gone? Like I don't know. That's a story. I like I think so. Like, I'm looking at a picture of the OG Avengers here, and realistically, there's only really Hulk, Hawkeye, and Thor, because obviously three of them are dead. But like I don't know, because there have been hints of Chris Evans coming back as Captain America. Captain America? Like there have been hints, like hints, but like they're really, really rumours. Like they're just not like people will take stuff from anything, yeah. That's what I'm saying. But I don't know, I don't know how they would bring that back. But what I'm still mad at is that I don't know why, like, no offense to Bookie. He went through so much trouble for all of that, and then he just he just went back in time and just kind of forgot about everything he had done. Like, you know what I mean? Like towards the end of Endgame, he just he just kind of I don't know, he just went back to Peggy and like I guess. No, Captain America, he's in Bookie. Oh my god, but that all no Oh yeah, Captain America, yeah. That's true, that was sort of an anti-climax. Like it was sweet, yeah, but it was it was like oh I don't know. He spent so much time on Bookie and he was literally on the run from literally the law for was it like five years? Because it was during the blip. Yeah, a long time. So five years, and then he just I don't know. But Directory like went back in time and he was able to like predict all the events. Directly fought in Vietnam. Maybe. Oh, I guess. But like, see the problem is you can't really like I know a lot of movies and stuff, they're like, you can't mess with the time, timeline, because then everything goes crazy. The timeline was messed with when they went to get the stones and any kids. Yeah, honestly, I feel like the the amount of of damage that did like they just put in like even the people writing all this stuff, they make so much effort for themselves, you know, they have to like tie all these loose ends up all the time. Like, jeez. But yeah, I don't know, with um with Doomsday, Avengers Doomsday, which is coming out in December, that it's gonna be it's gonna be strange, you know, like you're not gonna get your traditional Avengers, and I I don't have a problem with getting new characters, but like they're all being introduced in these series, you know? Yeah. A lot of them, and like a lot of people haven't seen them, you know. Me included. As they could tell from the first like five minutes, the why that we haven't seen the game series. It's just there's so many. There is, and like I just I like Marvel because I like the main timeline, you know, one movie after another, maybe the occasional spin-off if I really like a character. But yeah, like it it's it's starting to just feel like not Marvel anymore. It's starting to feel like money grab, it's it's felt that way for a long time. Like you have to know when to quit. Yeah, and like if I don't know, have you seen the like timeline they released at Comic Con? I think like a year ago. They have a timeline for like a number of years going on when they're releasing this and that, and it's just I don't really think there'll be that much interest in a few of the movies they're planning on releasing. But maybe the new BBs will prove that wrong. But yeah, like it's a it's a hard one to know because you know, we we want new stuff, like that's like we love Marvel and we'd love to see a new movie, but then you have to know like accept that you know, t 10, 20 years ago was like the start of it, and Iron Man and Captain America, all these people, and now it's just like it doesn't feel like that big deal anymore. Yeah, a lot of the big fans are sort of leaving because they feel like oh well there's nothing tangible here. Yeah, and like I think another thing like the kind of side is like um Robert Downey Jr. or DJ being rehired as yeah, Victor Von Dieu. Like I just I feel like that was so unnecessary. Like that you could have hired anybody else. Like there's so many actors out there, like so many like I kind of would have got it if it was somebody another like kind of minor role, but like he was Iron Man, like Iron Man is the face of Marvel. I'm trying to be hired as the face like the of villains other than Thanos is kind of like it's kind of stupid to me to be honest. I don't know why they did that. Oh, that's gonna be difficult. Like when we sorry, that we see the movie, that's it's gonna be hard to get your head around, like this is a a different person, surrounded by the same people, but he's a different person, and it's so I think it's gonna take people out of it a bit, you know? Like the whole like getting your head around like superheroes and aliens and all this stuff is hard enough as it is. The fact that you have to be honestly thinking, oh, Iron Man, oh no, wait, no, it's a completely different person. Yeah, with completely different objectives. You have to kind of remember like some of the other things that went on in the miniseries as well at the same time. Like I remember when a few like I can't remember what movie, I think it was Depo Movereen. I hadn't watched any of the X-Men or Fantastic Four, so literally I would just be watching all of them to gain a kind of concept. And before I saw the new Spider-Man movie, I had to watch all Spider-Man ones before I saw the actual Spider-Man movie. Yeah. Like it's it's fine to have to do a bit of homework, you know, going to be well. I mean what's like ten hours of these different series just to understand what's going on. Like it should be explaining maybe the movie before, you know, like then the next movie you'll get another bit of the story, and then the next movie it shouldn't be like, okay, you have to do this one first and then this one and then a bit of this one, and then season two of this one, and then you'll know what's going on and know who these people are. Yeah, it's like it's just kind of lost the plot at some point. Yeah. I can't remember which movie I was watching. I think it was the newest Captain America I went to the cinema to see, and one of the villains in it I'd never seen before, and I was like, Yeah, I just have to I just I'm I'm here now in the cinema, I sort of just have to accept this right now that I don't know who this is and just take it at face value. Oh my god, wait, is he the new Captain America? I love the Falcon, the the new the replacement funny. I like that's the best thing is that they'll introduce like some characters that are good, but then some new characters are kind of like I don't know how to feel about them. You know what I mean? Yeah. I feel like they're also trying to appeal to a younger audience as well, with the likes of Miss Marvel and Kate Bishop. So it's yeah. It's just like they they're sort of they're trying to cater to everyone, but then very few people at the same time. It's sort of confusing. Like people who've been watching it since like Iron Man and so far, they're probably losing interest because it's just completely different now. It's not even it barely resembles what it had when it was a big, you know, powerhouse into the film industry. And now they're sort of just clutching at straws and coming up with all these obscure storylines. So maybe like with Doomsday and The New Spider-Man, that'll change and their reputation will grow once again. Maybe it won't. Maybe it won't be. It could. Like it could change for the better and it could change for the worse, and I think it might probably change for the worse because there's a lot to I don't know. I have this book here. I might give it a little more great. It's called The Reign of Marvel Studios, and then it has like this big MCU on it. I haven't actually read it, but you might because it's it's it's on my list for one of the very next things I will be reading after I finish what I'm reading currently. Um, but it's it's quite long, but it basically I think it's about the studio itself and like the the money behind it and the stories and how they sort of came to fame. So I'm actually very excited to read it. It's by Joanna Robinson, Dave Gonzalez, and Gavin Edwards. So if anybody wants to read it, maybe let me know how it goes. So I'll see if it's worth knowing. Well, I read the have you seen the Scott Lang book? So it's like in the new Atlanta movie, he um he wrote a book called Look Out for the Little Guy. Oh yes, the book reading, yeah. And he he sold it like in the movie, but you can buy it in real life. Yeah, yeah. I actually can't find who actually made it because all the credentials are towards Scott Lang, so I actually don't know who actually took the time to write it. It was good. It was you know what it was it was interesting, I think, because it was basically just kind of seeing it from well like his perspective. But it would be anyway, so I think it would be f it was f but yeah, the new the new Ant-Man movie. Um have you seen it? Absolutely. Quantum Mania. Oh I went to cinema for that. We were all very excited and went with the fam and um my god, what have they done? No, I think you know what, I think it's just I kind of blocked out and got rid of it. Yeah, specifically the CGI on that one. The one guy did the one villain wasn't his name. It was so badly edited. It was so funny though, but how did that get past like hundreds of like executives and all this? I don't even know. He like he looked like I don't know, they just like stretched his head into like a cube. Really bad. Oh my gosh, he reminded me of like SpongeBob if Spongebob was like a person, it would be like shot. I don't know. It was horrendous. And it's just the whole thing felt a bit like a Star Wars ripoff.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00There's a lot of like alien that you like you could literally just interchange it with a scene in Star Wars, like at like one of the intergalactic bars or something. Yeah, it was really odd.
unknownI know.
SPEAKER_00And the storyline didn't really make a lot of sense, and yeah, I just I remember leaving thinking, like, what has it come to? Because the Anon started like with it being very sort of down-to-earth, you know. Yeah, then it's like they of course they turned into ants and wasps and stuff.
unknownYes.
SPEAKER_00That's down to earth cloud. Yeah, but like the rest of it was very it was like it was on earth, it was you know, one of the mill problems, and then now we're in like space, it's just like it's not what you need. It's so plumb out of proportion, yeah. And you know, um I I don't know, I'm so terrible with like movie names and character names today, I cannot think of anything. But you know the guy who is like it's he's played by Michael Pina, I think his name is, in Ant-Man, and he's like the best friend. Oh my god, yeah. Him, oh my god, he's one of my favourite characters when he like tells us stories and then they're like putting in the like clips of oh. It's so funny. But like we didn't really get seen without watching. He wasn't at all that I was so disappointed because we were all looking for it, because he's like the family we're he's our favourite character in Ant Man, and we were like, Oh, can't wait to see what he does this time. And then he was in them for like five seconds at the end or something. So missed opportunity of the century, yeah, to be honest. But yeah, so like some other new movies have been good, like Thunderbolts, for example. Thunderbolts was class. Can we talk about that for a second? Oh, my days. That was fast. Yeah, I've seen it like two or three times now. I just I just loved everything about it. I met my friend and then when we left the cinema, we were just like, Yes, that's what we needed, you know? Yeah, because um they just they took the group of them, such a such a solid lineup, you know. Yeah, like you got Bucky, Elena, the rest. Like the rest really like David Harbour was great in it as well. Yeah, and I liked how it was like emotionally driven for once, you know? Yeah, like you usually don't get that with Marvel projects, really. Yeah, like the action is great and you love that, but this like the whole physical representation of like depression and like addiction and sorrow and all this, it was just it was really beautiful to be honest. Yeah, it was like all um, but yeah, it was so well done, and I remember thinking just after the first five minutes, like it's this is gonna be good. Yeah, you know, and Julia Louise Dreyfus, she was actually in arrest at development for quite a while. But she was she was great in it as well. Like the performances are most of the time, performances in Marvel movies are solid, like even if the movie's not great, the acting is still gonna be pretty bang on, do you know? Yeah, yeah. What other new ones? There's Fantastic Four recently. I haven't seen it yet because I wanted to watch the older ones, but I just haven't gotten around to it to be honest. Yeah, the older ones. I'm actually gonna watch it tonight though, because I caught yeah, because I caught up on all the rest of them. So I'm gonna I'm gonna watch it as soon as I can. And what else were there? They're sort of the most recent big, big ones. Yeah. What did you think of the new Captain America movie? I was sort of torn, like it was it was grand, like I feel like it could have been better. There was times where the CGI was a bit like It was requestionable. Like how many turned red, the red hook, I was just like, are we gonna be doing this? I cracked over a bit, I'm not. But no, it was what did you think of it? I thought it was well, I like thought it was good, but um I didn't really watch Well, I did, but I forgot kind of the plot of the the Falcon and Disoldier mini series. So then when I went in, I just kind of got like hit with everything and I remembered all with kind of everything that went down in that series, so it was kind of yeah, yeah, it was full on. It was like wha yeah. Yeah, that's actually probably my favourite series back in the future. I completely forgot that existed earlier. It was so good.
unknownOh my god.
SPEAKER_00It was so funny because they were just arguing about nothing. Yeah, they were doing the whole time. The big three wizards. What was it? Wait, what was it? And then Bookie was like, he was like, Oh, how did you how did you know that? He's like, I read the Hobbit when it came out in 1940. Yeah, that was funny. Yeah, I just yeah, the the Winter Soldier, like Bucky is just I think unmatched. He just doesn't just in general, like even in The Wild and The Winter Soldier when he like pretends to be still under control. Under control. It's just too iconic. I'll take it. Oh but yeah. Um another character that we haven't mentioned is Doctor Strange, who that is so surprising how long we did this. Remember, 20 minutes and we haven't mentioned him that much. Um he is played by Benedict Cumberbatch, who also played Sherlock. What? Yeah, um, if you haven't listened to Orcher like I've said, no, I'm not gonna do that. But um he I no Doctor Strange I've sort of a mixed opinion of him as a character. Like sometimes he can be good, but sometimes I'm just like what is like the character? Like, what are you what are you trying to be? You know, sometimes like he's very serious like all the time. Yeah. I don't know, like it's it's weird. But um I did like him in No Way Home. Yeah. But the thing in was it the new the new Doctor Strange movie? Oh god, the new Dr. Dotchy Gomez movie. Why did he have a third eye? That was so unnecessary. Yeah, like does that mean he's he's part of some sort of like secret society or something? No, it's like I think he has the third eye so we can like see into the future or something. I don't know, that's like my speculation. I actually haven't looked into it. And that was that was after No Way Home, wasn't it? Yeah. The thing in No Way Home though, I liked when he was in De Sanctuary and like it was like I don't know, it's kind of oh sorry, we like pause. The movie on accident, and we saw his mug, and it said, What the fuck? Have you seen that?
SPEAKER_01No.
SPEAKER_00But yeah, it's it's so funny. Like it's just the kind of like the little details, but yeah, these trees. Yeah. And another, like John Watson is also in the multiverse. Martin Freeman plays FBI plays some FBI agent. In Black Panther. Yeah. And he's no, he's also in Civil War. Yeah, is it yeah, it is Civil War. Yeah, well he gets injured in Black Panther and he has to get taken to Wakanda for treatment. And he might make an appearance in Doomsday. Do you think there's gonna be a Sherlock's like reunion? Like what I wouldn't give for that. Oh god. Imagine. No, it would be so funny if it was like the two of them came on screen, there was just some niche reference. It'd be so like odd. Very formula. What I wouldn't give. Um Yeah, so what haven't we talked about yet? I guess who Oh, our least favourite characters. Least favourite. For me, and I know this is a sensitive subject, it would probably have to be Kang. Um and I'm glad that he is no longer a part of the Marvel Universe. I'll leave it at that. You yeah, yeah, I don't like it. But my favourite no, sorry, no, not my favourite. My least favourite is like Israel like John Walker. Yeah. Like he's so he's so fake, but he's also just kind of like a really bad person. Like the way like in the mini-series for like the Falcon and the Winter Soldier, um I don't know, when he got power of the shield, like up being Captain America, I just it went to his head so quickly, and just seen a lot of horrible things as Captain America, so still don't really like them that much. Yeah, there is an argument to be made though, like when and this goes for I guess any movie, is there's a villain, and if everyone thinks that they're their least favourite character, that's sort of they they've achieved the goal, like the people making the film has achieved the goal. Like they don't want you to like him. Yeah. But it can it I just feel like he was just annoying, like what are you doing? But it it was what they were going for, like you need like to go like root for the main character, like for the protagonist. Yeah, so I guess he was a solid antagonist, but yeah, he just he reminds me of Harry McGuire. I don't know if many people get that reference, but look it up. But his his dad is isn't it that his dad plays another he plays character in MCU as well. He plays um in Guardians Galaxy, he plays Star Lord's dad as the god, I forgot his name. Wait, wait, bear with me here, guys. I'm on Google. John Walker, what's his what's the actual name like? John Walker Marvel played by Wyatt Russell, Kurt Russell, his dad is Kurt Russell, who plays hang on, guys, hang on, John Russell. Oh he plays Santa and the Christmas Chronicles. Yes, he does! Very true. Yeah, but he plays Ego, the living um something, but he plays ego and he's like kind of like a god. I I don't know. That's kind of it's not an apotism, but like it's just kind of like I don't know, it's kind of funny seeing the two because they look so alike as well that you'd kinda be able to tell that they're related. I just put that together. Yeah. Speaking of putting these together, in I don't know if you've seen Shang-Chi. No. So like Shang-Chi, his dad works for this organization called The Ten Rings. But if you actually go back and re-watch Iron Man 1, you'll see that when he's kidnapped in Afghanistan, he's kidnapped by the Ten Rings. So it's like linking. Yeah, love a good link. No, there is there's quite a few in Marvel. Obviously, we're never gonna be able to think of one off the top of our heads. Oh god, we're not that locked in. But um, yeah, links and like whenever you like sort of you see one, you're just like, yeah. Like that's link, but you just wouldn't be able to tell it off the top of your head. Like it's I know it's like someone's first and that like I saw a video the other day online, and it was like all the times that Marvel thing like lines have been repeated. I'm just yeah, oh yeah. That's what you want. I think another link was when Thor first came to Earth and he got a drink from Jane. He was like, Oh, I like this, I want more, and smashes the mug on the ground. You can see Loki doing that in I don't know if it was season one or season two. I think it was season one. Season one, and he's in like a bar and he's drinking and he says, I like this, I want more, and throws it on the ground because it's kind of like an As Guardian tradition. I thought that was that was cool. Stuff like that, yeah, yeah. Um going back to Iron Man though, Iron Man 1. What do you think of that movie? Because that is like one of my least favourites. Really? Yeah, and every time I'm on my talking something about Marvel movie, I'm like, oh what's your favourite one? And everyone says Iron Man 1. I'm just like really no Iron Man 1 is my favourite, but like it's not my least favourite. Like my least favourite is probably I don't know. I actually don't know what my least favourite is, but I don't think the Eternals was fantastic. Um Harry Styles just being there was just so interesting. But um back to Iron Man 1. I like don't really I don't really have an opinion on it to be honest. I thought it was cool to see how he became Iron Man. Yeah, that was cool. Yeah, but like I don't know, I just felt like it was just it the whole thing just reminds me of like just like a desert, it was like an empty, just like nothingness. Yeah, like erase your mood boards of different MCU movies in Iron Man board is just a desert. It's an empty desert, nothing else. Oh but yeah, um hmm. And also there are the newer Spider-Man movies, as in the animated ones models more or less. Oh my god, yeah. The animation is fantastic. Yes, the animation is solid, and the first one into the Spider-Verse is sorry, I'm like unsure. Every time I say the name of some movie, I'm just like Yeah, in the Spider-Verse, that was good. Second one went to cinema. Did you see that? Yeah. They left it on a to be continued and they haven't continued it. It's been no, it's been extended so much. I think it was supposed to come out like literally I don't know yesterday. No one literally at this point probably because they've extended it so much. Yeah. For like obviously it's because like the animation takes forever. Like the most retail. But like, I don't know why they would say to be continued, release a saving, and then just not follow through with it because the day has been moved forward so much. Yeah, and but I didn't realise that Jake Johnson is actually he plays Peter B. Parker and Jake Johnson is my favourite character in New Girl. I was about to say who plays Nick. Yeah, I was like that guy from New Girl. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. He's so he's so funny, man. I follow him on Instagram. But if we want to talk about again recasting, well that's not really a recast in this case, but the same um the same person who plays Kate Bishop in Hawkeye plays Gwen State. Okay, so like I found others, so um Catherine Han was in the second Spider-Verse movie as Dark Ok, but like it was stopped to like Olivia, I think. And then Andy Sandberg was Scarlet Spider. Sandberg. Andy Sandberg. Wow. And Jason Jason Swordsman. Yeah, I can barely say his second as the spot. So there's a lot of big names in the movies, to be fair. Yeah. See that's the thing, these animated movies, like a lot of them are directed to kids, so they like wouldn't know who these people are, you know. Like when you like see someone in a movie, you're like, oh yeah, that's their face. I recognise them from this and this. But like people's voices are harder to distinguish unless you have like a voice like I don't know who who is in. No, we actually do have a bit of a distinctive voice if you don't know. Yeah. But um stuff like that. What was I even saying? Uh oh, the strongest character. We also wanted to talk about that. Who do you think is the strongest, the most powerful person? I think it's probably like the Scarlet Witch, one of the wax both. Because she can destroy the stones with her hands, with her powers. Yeah. But like I think top three would probably be Scarlet Witch, Captain Marvel, and Thor in that order.
unknownOh, in that order.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and she's not on it. Yeah. Yeah, no, I definitely agree. Um although I think Doctor Strange could do some damage. Oh yeah, for God. To be honest, he he could do some damage as well, but like Scarlet Witch is pretty powerful, and we saw that in the new Doctor Strange baby.
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_00Of which I actually don't think she is dead. Like, it's just there's no there's no way she's dead before Doctor Doom's Day. Doctor Doom's Day. No, not Doctor Doom's Day. Before about your day. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Um is there anything else you would like to say before we finish off with a little quiz? Um I can't remember. Thames Panos. Yeah. That whole thing. Crazy. I still like honestly, uh they shot down Roadie for this in the movie, but I don't get why they didn't just go back in time and kill him as a baby. Roadie. Yeah, Roadie suggested No, they kill Roy's. I think suggested to kill us, and then they all kind of like looked at him like he had three heads, but like it was such a valid point. Yeah, there'd be so many repercussions, like you wouldn't even know. Like, you could do that and then go back into the present and then I don't know, the sky is red or something, you'd be like, why is that? Oh, because Paris is dead. Like, no, but like literally why? Why are they happy though? I don't know, but like you never know. Like people say that about things that happen in the real world, and well, like you'd never you can never account for every possibility. Yeah, but like imagine like being in blip. Like, I was thinking about this, like I saw a clip. So in Spider-Man, oh I can't remember which one it was, but he's on a field trip, and his teacher is talking about how his wife left him to go off with the with like a hike instructor or whatever, but he didn't know because she thought he thought she was dead, but she wasn't. Yeah, so they had like a real funeral for her, and all I thought that was really like and in like oh just all that experience that would just be so trippy is to just come back and like oh yeah, five years of your life have just been gone. Whoa, madness school-wise as well, like wouldn't the curriculum change as well? And I guess, but like there would be like how did they what I don't get is like half the people are gone, and yeah, nothing like people were missing, yeah. But like surely people in power or teachers, all these people weren't there, like but like life carried on a bit. Yeah, do you know? Like people mourned people because they they physically weren't there, but it's the stuff they they were doing wasn't there either, you know. Yeah, that that I guess confuses me at tiny bit, but anyways. Um I'd also say like if you're listening to this and if you've gone this far, obviously you don't care about spoilers, but and if you like haven't seen the movies, like do you like try watch them in order the best you can. Do you know? Like they I know on Disney Plus they have like movies in timeline order. That's how I sort of tackled it because it does it there's a lot of stuff to take in and all these goddamn mini series. Uh I watched it in chronological order. Yeah. Chronological order. No, like order that you not chronological, but like order that like is recommended for the timeline. I watched it that way because it's just that that's that's for the pros. Um but yeah, like I when I first started, like, and I still I'm not really too into like sci-fi or like aliens or superheroes, really. Like, I'd never touch a DC movie, but um yeah, come at me. But um it is it there's a lot of like there's a lot of story in it, you know, a lot of heart, a lot of emotion. So she's gotta give it a chance. And even if you do start on Iron Man, which timeline you will have to, maybe unless you watched Captain America, don't judge everything because of Iron Man. Don't judge a book why it's covered, Iron Man. Plenty of good movies. Yeah. But Captain America the first adventure is actually really, really good. Yeah. It's a good good good place to start. That's where I started. So I think we will end with a little quiz. Um to see to see how like credible we are. Oh. Um I just I don't know, I just pulled a random one up. It is we're gonna do like fast. Um this is off Disney Singapore. So, right. Thor's hammer is made of metal from the heart of a dying watch star planet. Easy star. Yes. You are right. Okay, next one. What is the name of the villain in Marvel Studios? Ah man, the wasp hornet yellow jacket or ghost? Ghost. The yellow jacket sounds familiar. The yellow jacket is the first one. Do you think? Yeah. You confident? Yes. Sounds kind of a ghost. What is the name of the second one? Ghost is the second one, also. You were like you were like close. Oh yeah. Yeah. Well, it could have been either. What is the name of the set of documents that regulate the activities of an enhanced person? The Socovia Accords. Oh, Sokovia! Socovia, that was like honestly. We don't talk about Socovia. We don't talk about Bruno. Okay, what are the names of the batteries that the Guardians have to protect at the beginning of Marvel Studios Guardians' Galaxy Volume 2? Oh yeah, I have no idea. Anulax. Yeah.
unknownYeah.

Thai food, Nirvana, Star Wars, Frozen Yogurt. Ooh. Star Wars was definitely in it. And Nirvana was definitely in it. I think fro frozen yogurt. No, I think frozen yogurt was in it though. Really? In the post-credit scene of Marvel Studios The Avengers, what type of restaurant are the Avengers showing? Ah! Swarma! Nice! Nice. Rocket has been called all of the following names except Whiskers, Triangle Face Monkey, Sweet Rabbit, Trash Panda. He's been called Trash Panda, he's been called Whiskers. I'd say Sweet Rabbit. Yeah, Sweet Rabbit's probably. Oh no. Whiskers! I swear he was called Whiskers in one of the miniseries.
SPEAKER_01Guess not.
SPEAKER_00What is a Wi-Fi password? Carl Modo hands Doctor Strange. Dormanu Camurtage Shambhala Agamoto. I still aw here like. It's I'd say it's Camartage, no? Yeah, probably. Nope. Shambhala. You guys are real fast. In Marvel Studios. Thor Ragnarok. Thor, really with the hook on this planet. Asgard's car, Zandar, Burhurst. Xandar.
unknownNope.
SPEAKER_00No, it's not. Oh my god. I was gonna. Oh, what's the E in Shield stand for? I know this one. It is Enforcement Division. Enforcement. What is it? Strategic Homeland Intervention Enforcement Land Division. Yeah. Or something. Or something like that. Where did Thanos find the Soulstone? Vormir, Nowhere, Earth, Nid Nidavilir. I think it was Nowhere. Nowhere with a K. For those of you who are fans. Um well Nowhere was the Pasant the perfect with like. It's either Nowhere or Nidavilir. Was it all? I swear it was Vormir, because that's where Really? That's where like That's where what? That's where like you know the sacrifice happened. Okay, well I put Vormir then Yeah. Oh yeah. Because nowhere was where he found the other one. Who of the following is not part of the Black Order and more of a studio's Avengers and what the hell is the Black Order? Oh yeah. Proxima Midnight Ep. Cold Obsidian, Ulysses Clot. Ulysses Claw is that's the only person I actually recognise. He's the guy out of the guy with the beard and the glasses. Maybe him though. Because I've heard of him. Yeah, okay, the Avengers. Oh, it was right. Thoro has a new weapon in Marvel Studios Avengers of Indie War. What is it called and where was it forged? Storm Stormbreaker. It's definitely called Stormbreaker. No! Yeah. Is it? Wait, Mum. That's not the last one. That's the original weapon, yeah. Yeah, Stormbreaker. Need a Belir. There we go. Yeah. Yes, we're so right. Which movie was Captain America's Shield last scene? Brave New World. It's not an option. Oh it was. Infinity War, The Winter Soldier, Civil War, Endgame. But it was definitely an endgame. Because it was broken. Yeah, endgame. Nice. What is the collective name of the female warriors that protect the King of Conda? Dora Milaj. Yeah, it is. It's the Dora Milage. I was just kind of confident about it. Finally, how many movies are there in the Marvel Cinematic Universe so far, including Marvel Studios Avengers Endgame? Oh. 15, 18, 20, or 30? We have the three iron underneath. Don't even try that. I think it's probably 20? 20, I think. Yeah. Do you want to go 20? Yeah. No. 30! I knew it! Oh we got 12 out of 16. We're yeah. Some of those don't worry about it. We passed. That's we got 75%. It's pretty solid now. Pretty solid, but look. Some of those questions were so hard. How was I supposed to know the Wi-Fi faster if that is so like that is so too much? Yeah. Um alright guys. Thank you for listening. Hope you enjoyed this tweet. Sorry, sorry, sorry. Thanks for listening. Oh, we need to keep it together. Um Dear Joe will be back next week, and it'll be the three of us once again. Hopefully. Yeah, hopefully.
